My name is Abby and I am a beautiful dark bay TB mare who came from a horrible situation. I was given to a man who had no knowledge of how to care for me (or my 2 herdmates) and would not take any advice on how to care for us. He allowed us to get very thin until 1 of my herdmates starved to death. A kind vet was finally called out and he stepped up to the plate for us and asked the owner if he would give us to someone who could give us proper care and then the rescue was called to come get me and my herdmate Tony. Sadly by the time rescue was involved we both scored at a 1 (severe emaciation) and my herdmate Tony died on the trailer ride to the rescue because he was just too weak to make it any longer. But I am a survivor and I pulled through. I have been given the care I needed to put back on my weight, I am working on my manners now (I was not handled much at my former home) and I lead, load, and tie nicely, I am starting some work under saddle although I haven't been ridden yet, and I get along great with the other horses that live here. I would be the perfect project horse for an intermediate to advance rider.
